Sourdough Tools
You can find a wide array of information about sourdough, as well as accessories for sourdough baking. Bakers’ and recipe creators’ may suggest a wide array of tools that promise to make your sourdough journey easier and yield better results. Even though there is no doubt that some of these tools will make your life a little easier, there is no need to invest heavily on accessories, since most of the things you need to bake a successful sourdough bread you likely already have in your kitchen.
The one exception to this would be a food scale. Most sourdough recipes will ask you to measure your ingredients in grams, so if you don’t already have one, I would recommend you get yourself one. I find that using a scale when you are starting on your sourdough journey is somewhat of a safety net. Once you get used to the look and feel of your dough, you might find that you can do without. Personally, I have not reached that point in my journey yet, and I find that the scale is an important tool in my arsenal. You can find a food scale in your local supermarket or online.
